We began with our mini hockey festival which has now run for 3 years. Hockey is still very new to the Yr 5 and 6 who took part, but never the less the standard is improving rapidly.

Twelve teams took part in our first festival of the year on a scorching hot afternoon.

For some it was the first taste of a hockey competition whilst others showed some excellent match play. After the round robins, the final was a closely fought game between Cold Aston and Sherborne with Cold Aston the eventual winners.

September - Orienteering

Our annual outdoor and adventurous activity was our orienteering festival for year 3 and 4 held in Sherborne Park. Eighty children quickly learnt the basics of map reading whilst running to the control points and covered several miles up and down the park. Thanks go to The National Trust for use of the Park.

October - Football

FootballBourton Primary School hosted the Year 3/4 football tournament with 10 teams taking part. There was some excellent play by all with Bledington winning for the second year running, beating Temple Guiting in the final.

November - SHA

SHA 2011 5 Page 4This year indoor athletics was a momentous occasion because it was the first time that we were able to host it in the new(ish) sports hall at the Cotswold School and therefore the first time that all 11 schools could compete together. The turn out was fantastic with 112 children participating and 34 year 10 sports leaders officiating. After the serious and closely contested individual events there followed some exciting relay races.
